Kelly's are undertaking a number of initiatives to improve the environmental impact of our business. The plant has been upgraded to fully comply with all regulations, including the installation of dust monitoring and suppression technologies, and also an oil leak interception system. Furthermore we employ an independant company to monitor our dust and water every month. The tarmac plant is fitted with a particle filtration system that is independently monitored by the EPA annually.
GGBS Substituting Cement!
Under the Silurian Sea
The feature page about GGBS explains how reducing the amount of cement in concrete brings about big reductions in the CO2 emmissions that were
tradiotionally viewed as unavoidable. We also employ the latest tracking technologies to ensure our trucks minimise their journey time and continually strive to make our operations more efficient and environmentally friendly, because at Kelly's we have learned over that years that being efficient at our job goes hand in hand with improving our environmental impact.
Joint company owner John Kelly is a keen environmentalist and his passion for sowing and protecting trees around the plant is well known.
